Dear Family,

Faith leaders have just had a conference call with the BC Premier and other top officials regarding how we can take precautions and provide help and comfort in the developing situation with Covid-19.  Please note that there is no need to panic and do not create a crisis by hoarding supplies. Be mindful that others also need them. There is currently no crisis in BC. Things may change over the coming weeks and we want to be prepared.  The government is, and will be, providing the latest information on the bccdc.ca website.  Please use this as your source for information and recommendations.

Please note the following precautions and plans we will be taking at this time:

  1. Limit touching - especially hands - as much as possible (e.g. bump elbows rather than shake hands).
  2. Wash hands regularly (as well as commonly touched areas).  Soap and water is effective.
  3. Try to stay 2 arms lengths apart to avoid droplet spread.  (i.e. limit hugging, kissing, etc)
  4. If you're sick or think you may be a risk to others, please avoid gatherings as much as possible and let us know so that we can support you.
  5. Some of our optional events may be postponed until we get the all-clear.  We will keep you posted and please check our website.
  6. Be attentive to neighbours and friends who may need support or comfort if they are ill (e.g. fetch their groceries, drop off a meal, etc)
  7. Make sure that we have your contact info (and you have each other's) in case we move to online meetings and/or gatherings (e.g. for home group).  Consider how you could meet online.

At this time we will continue with our Sunday services and our home groups.  Please self-assess and self-isolate if you are sick or think you may be contagious.  Be attentive to people who may become socially isolated if the pandemic spreads in BC.

Remember God's promise to Israel as they were about to enter the Promised Land:
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”   Deut 31:6

In His grace
